Why Take a Dog Training Class?

A Free Introduction Workshop for Humans

45-60 mins.
This workshop is designed to introduce owners who have not taken a dog training class or may not feel they need to.

Objectives to be addressed:

+ Maximizing your communication with your dog
+ Minimizing potential liabilities with dog ownership
+ Preventing undesired behaviors
+ Preventing dangerous behaviors before they start
+ Correcting bad behaviors already started
+ A good dog has a job

Beginner

  • Introductory class for puppies or any age dog with no prior training.

  • Teach you how to communicate with your pup and focus on basic skills and commands.

  • Addresses socialization and preventing problem behaviors.

Intermediate

  • Teach basic manners with impulse control and relationship building exercises.

  • Focuses on redirection techniques and leash walking.

  • Preventing stubbornness and teaching your dog self-control.

Leadership & Obedience (Advanced)

  • Solidifying commands and basic obedience working through introducing more stimuli with distance and distractions.

  • Help strengthen your dog's ability to provide faster and more consistent responses while improving reliability and trust.

  • Learn to read your dog's body language and identify signs of stress.

Behavioral Modification (Advanced)

  • Great for dogs who cannot handle a group class environment.

  • Dogs with behavioral issues, anxious or fearful behavior learn ways to comfort your dog and tips to help them feel more comfortable, secure, and confident.

  • Identifying and navigating through triggers with threshold training.

Puppy Package (10 months & under)

Behavioral Consultation and Assessment

  • Consultation assessment evaluating the level of behavior concern.

  • Provide framework for management and recommendations for next steps.

  • Addressing specific issues as well providing the tools necessary in order to achieve results.

Desensitization & Counter Conditioning

  • One On One Session

  • This is great for dogs who have fears or sensitivities to things such as the vet, groomers, being touched, new or strange environment/surroundings, or other animals/people.

  • We use desensitization to work through changing the emotional response of the dog from fear, aggression, obsession, etc. to a neutral response with no reaction.

  • We combine this with counter-conditioning where we work on changing a dog's reaction to a certain stimulus allowing trips to the vet/groomers more manageable as well as being able to bring your dog around new areas/environment with more ease and certainty.

My name is Kailani and I have been involved in the pet care industry for the past 10-plus years! Since I was a little girl, I was obsessed with everything dogs. Once I finally got to bring my first dog Bailey home, I knew this undeniable passion and need to learn everything I could about dogs was just the beginning. My deep love and connection with dogs soon fueled my passion to become a Certified Dog Trainer.

I am skilled in force-free dog training techniques and educated about using science and behavior-based methods to make training more efficient. I pride myself on the use of positive reinforcement methods that will build confidence in our beloved pups and strengthen the bonds we have with them. I work closely every step of the way to ensure the process is enjoyable for the client, fun for the dog, and successful for everyone!
